Developer Taylor Wimpey have been selected as the preferred bidder to redevelop Winstanley and Hope Road housing estates in Battersea, South West London. They were chosen ahead of well known competing bidders Berkeley Homes, Pinnacle Group, Balfour Beatty, Lendlease and C&C Properties.

The £1bn scheme will see the creation of a new mixed use neighbourhood of approximately 2000 homes with retail, leisure and office space. The first job of the joint venture partnership between Taylor Wimpey and Wandsworth Council will be to draw up a planning application. The most favoured option amongst residents will see large areas of the York Road estate being rebuilt with the rest undergoing refurbishment works.
