Developer Knight Dragon has commissioned one of the world’s leading architects, Santiago Calatrava, to design his first British structure on the Greenwich Peninsula.
This mixed use landmark scheme is the third phase of the £8bn regeneration of 60 hectares of former gasworks opposite Canary Wharf.
Pictures of the proposed iconic development, Peninsula Place, show a substantial glass galleria and 80ft high “winter garden” atrium surrounded by three 30 storey towers. The proposed development will include 800 apartments, 30 000sq m of offices, restaurants, bars, around 80 shops and a 500 room hotel.
North Greenwich tube and bus stations will also undergo refurbishments and improvements. Construction for the development is expected to last 3 years.
